Today, the third guy in a week has talked to me about marriage and having children. Maybe they haven’t seen my ‘read between the lines’ Twitter tweet I did on that subject 2 days ago. No, it’s not gonna happen. I have goals in life that i am accomplishing one by one, and though it’s way off in the future, here are the three goals that must be fulfilled before I even consider having kids with one of you guys …

priorities before having kids …
- have a place to live such as a condo or house, in my own name, fully paid for.
- have a bank account and investment portfolio that are equal to the amount a successful foreigner would have at age 30 if not more.
- Be living as far away from Thailand as possible, a galaxy far, far away would be fine, failing that, a different continent would suffice.
then and only then would i start to think about having children.
In that line of thinking, I’m just following in my uncle’s footsteps. He has shown me that a man can start from nothing and build a successful life by doing three things. Thinking differently than everybody else, by having goals, and by never stopping until each goal is realized.
After my dad abandoned me and my mom, it was my uncle who drove me around the village asking me if I wanted to be like every girl living there – 15 / pregnant / single / poor , and then by driving me around the rich parts of Bangkok and asking me later which of the two lifestyle’s I wanted for myself. He’s the one who insisted that only English be spoken or written in his place no matter how much it was looked down upon by outsiders and even my sister who i shared and still share a room with. I had to not only attend university but by his rules if he was to pay for my education I had to have an A- average in all my years. Then finally it was my uncle who paid for my college in Australia that allowed me to change from being Rainy 1.0 to Rainy 2.0 , and finally morph to the Rainy 3.0 that I am today. I’ve learned to create goals, stick to them, and be a perfectionist along the way in everything I do.
Part of that plan means being a perfectionist in choosing the man I want to share my life with. Notice I use the word choose and not the word settle. I don’t settle for anything. I have a list of the things I demand from a man and if he cannot meet them all then I discard him and keep looking. The early bird might get the worm, but the princess gets the castle and she wouldn’t settle for anything less, nor will I.
So take your pretentiousness elsewhere. The mia culpa is on you if you don’t want to show me both your monetary value as well as your worth as a gentleman. Which means you can either wait for me to accomplish goals #1, 2 and 3 on my own which I will, and then hope the stars align for you in the future, or you can skip the line and work with me on those goals.
That’s just the smaller test. The bigger one’s gonna be getting my uncle to approve you. You’re gonna need some big feet to fill those shoes
